Many of the citizens will give you a free berry daily if you talk to them. Also, their berry gardens are free to take from, as long as you plant them back: If you take all their berries, they'll stop giving out free ones as well.
--Key items--
You can get a Wailmer Pail if you talk the the girl who seems to be tending her garden 24/7.
--Badge--
Mitsu holds the Tropic Badge. Once you have that, Pokemon up to level 38 will obey you. Also, you get the TM for 'Leaf Blade'
